AquaFed has confirmed Bruno Hervet, CEO of Suez Europe, as the federation’s new president.

Bruno said his priority for AquaFed is to accelerate progress on our 4Ps Initiative and the development of the Global Water PPP Hub, which is about to go-live. This initiative will provide direct support for governments to increase their knowledge on water PPPs and expand the pipeline of PPP projects.

He also urged new members - operators but also engineering companies, consultancies and start-ups - to join AquaFed. He highlighted how it is essential that the private sector speaks with one voice to governments and international bodies and collectively promote our solutions.

Mr Hervet said: “We know public-private-partnerships work and we know we have solutions for every challenge facing governments and communities.

“Only through collective efforts from our members can we help and encourage governments and public authorities move to implementation of private sector solutions.

“We are not there yet in the water sector. We have much more work to do to explain how we add value and how to establish partnerships where everyone benefits equitably.

“Our PPP Hub will be one of the tools for governments and public authorities to move forward on implementing all types of public-private-partnership projects and programmes.”

Mr Hervet also currently holds the positions of acting CEO of SUEZ Engineering & Construction, Executive Chaiman SUEZ Consulting.

AquaFed’s leadership team is now in place, as Arnaud Valleteau, CEO of Engineering and Procurement Projects at Veolia, was recently confirmed as AquaFed’s Vice-President.

Mr Hervet said: “AquaFed is a place for all organisations and our membership continues to grow and become more diverse. We have all worked very hard over many years to have private sector solutions for water solutions understood and accepted. Now we move to the next phase – action and implementation.”
