AquaFed elected Cyril Courjaret as its new President during the federation’s Annual Meeting on 17th June.

Cyril, who is Group SVP Business Development, Marketing and Key Accounts at SUEZ , said his priorities are to deliver AquaFed’s emerging ‘4Ps Initiative’, which will help governments to increase the flow of public-private-partnership and private sector participation programmes and projects.

He said: “It is a great time to become President of AquaFed and a real honour for me. Our membership is growing and our work to promote public-private-partnerships is really accelerating.

“The role of the private sector and the importance of all types of public-private-partnerships for water services are now widely accepted. AquaFed will be stepping up our support for governments, regulators and investors to help them design and implement public-private solutions in an equitable way for all.

“AquaFed will continue to show leadership and contribute actively at all the major international forums and programmes. We are always open to collaboration and partnership that ultimately lead to the achievement of the SDGs.”

AquaFed’s previous president, Frederic VAN HEEMS , who was heading Veolia for North-America, is now transitioning as Vice-President and will become Honorary President.

Cyril said: “I want to give a huge thanks to my predecessor, Fred Van Heems, for his vision, hard work and energy. AquaFed has transformed under his leadership and he has made it a much stronger and better organisation.”
