AquaFed is working on Countries' Water Regulation Maps to help future national PPP frameworks

02/04/2025

Country Flags

AquaFed is supporting governments and regulators to implement water PPPs by publishing guides to existing frameworks in countries that support these partnerships.

The Water Regulation Maps are easy to use guides to the relevant legislation and regulation related to water/wastewater PPPs. They show which government departments have responsibility for which areas of policy and how responsibility is arranged at local to national level.

The Maps also contain a brief assessment from AquaFed on what we believe are the good points of a particular country’s framework and which aspects we believe could be changed.

The objective of producing these maps is to help countries considering water/wastewater PPPs by showing them the range of systems from other countries, giving them options they could potentially follow.

So far AquaFed has published maps for:

The systems in France and Spain are the next to be published between now and the end of March.
