AquaFed has been supporting partners to organise sessions at the Water for Climate pavilion in the blue zone at the COP29 in Azerbaijan. There was a discussion on how to scale finance in water resilient infrastructure, during a day of events focused on urban water resilience.

On Tuesday 19th November, we’ve organised an intergenerational dialogue about how to change and improve systems – governance, finance, participation for example – to ensure countries can better mitigate and adapt to climate change. This is part of a day of events overseen by UNESCO to explore how systems strengthening can be applied to tackle climate and water management challenges by breaking down barriers, engaging diverse stakeholders, and leveraging innovative approaches and presenting best practices of climate resilient water management.

Tuesday is also important as the theme of the Green Zone is Food, Agriculture and Water. One of the many sessions to look for is about mobilising private sector investment, which will be held in the Conference Room.

Our huge thanks to SIWI - Stockholm International Water Institute for taking on the huge responsibility and cost to host the Water for Climate Pavilion again this year.
